A few photos from Olivia and Jonny’s Northern Quarter pre-wedding shoot in Manchester.
Olivia and Jonny told me it was their first time really in front of the camera. A pre-wedding shoot is most people’s first time in front of the camera so that’s fine with me 🙂 . The northern quarter was a great place for a pre-wedding shoot: what with all the graffiti and alleyways it’s got loads of character. Olivia and Jonny liked how ‘gritty’ it could look, so the grit look was in!
We went for a walk around the area, taking a few natural photos along the way. Then Jonny suggested we take a walk to where they used to live when they first moved to Manchester, a few years back. We crossed the inner ring road and found ourselves in a small estate that pays homage to the 1930s style houses commonly seen in Coronation Street. They were kept awake a lot by a local night club apparently. They must’ve been pretty annoying!
I’m really looking forward to photographing their wedding at Manchester Registry Office followed by reception at The Curious Teepee of the Oast House. Olivia and Jonny want really relaxed, natural documentary photos, which is just great to hear. I normally drive to weddings, but I think on this occasion I’ll take the Metro, so if the party gets a bit lively after the first dance I can have a pint of Guinness or two. I take my best dance floor photos when I’ve had a couple of pints….but I only ever have a couple mind!
I offer natural and relaxed documentary wedding photography for down-to-earth couples who like to have a good time :). Check out my portfolio, or contact me with any questions or to check for availability.
