Wow! What it is to be a Queens Hotel Leeds Wedding Photographer! This 4 star wedding venue has been stunning bride and grooms with its Art Deco style since 1937. It is an amazing landmark hotel which overlooks Leeds city centre and square. It is dedicated to a high standard of service and the hotel even has a private entrance from the Leeds Train Station. With 215 spacious rooms, capacity of up to 500 wedding guests in the Queens Ballroom and an experienced wedding coordinator, the Queens Hotel is perfect place to make lasting memories of your special day. The stylish Art Deco decor and architecture are a fantastic backdrop for unique and natural wedding photography.
The day started with a peaceful and relaxed bridal prep at Katherine’s parents’ house. The bride was feeling very happy that she would be getting married later that day, as were her mum and dad too. Katherine’s mum wasn’t too keen on having her photo taken, but I was able to sneak a photo in of her in the mirror while she was having hair and makeup. Katherine’s dad entertained himself in the living room with online chess. He was pretty good at it by all accounts!
I moved over to Chris’ house, who was also having a good time getting ready with his mum, dad, brother (who was also his best man) and his girlfriend. Following a little mutual assistance with tying of each other’s ties, Chris and his dad were able to relax on their couch in the living room. This was a wedding where everything was running very smoothly indeed.
I followed our groom and his family to the church. Some guests had already begun to arrive and there was plenty of hugging all round as Chris and his family greeted them all. This is a great time for me to capture plenty of emotion before the ceremony began.
With all the guests seated in the church, the wedding ceremony could begin, with Katherine arriving right on time. Both she and the father of the bride looked very happy as she exited her car and made her way up the short path to the church. The ceremony was lovely. Chris showed his nerves ever so slightly as Katherine entered the church but once proceedings were in full flow he was fine, and our bride and groom tied the knot without a hitch. The first kiss was a very nice moment.
The register signed, the whole wedding party congregated outside the church for a few family portraits and a jolly good confetti run. It was a good one at that and just as Katherine and Chris thought it was over, Grandma snuck in one more confetti shower at the end. While Katherine and Chris left for the Queens Hotel in their wedding car, I enjoyed riding on the top deck of their bus with the rest of their guests. There were some good natural photography opportunities here and I was able to capture everyone having a good old cheer!
Once we arrived there was a little time for a few natural and relaxed couple photos around Leeds’ city centre. At one point, while we crossed the road, some young revellers in fancy dress kindly showed their appreciation for our newlyweds, congratulating them as they passed. I was really happy I could get this on camera. The speeches were filled with fun and laughter, with Chris being ribbed constantly by his bro and best man, as well as Katherine’s dad. Once the wedding breakfast was over I had a lot of fun photographing guests enjoying themselves in Leeds’ finest Art Deco wedding venue. Grandma having a good snort is a personal favourite!
The first dance was great. Katherine and Chris, very much in love, moved romantically around the dance floor, back lit by unobtrusive lights. Their friends, family and loved ones soon joined them on the dance floor, and I was able to document a few close up and intimate moments between our new husband and wife.
Many congratulation to Katherine and Chris. I wish you guys all the best for the future!
