About me - A wedding photographer based in Manchester
This is me with my son during a family visit a few months back (thanks to my wife for the photo). I don’t have too many photos of myself because – I won’t lie – I’m much more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it. I understand how awkward it can feel posing for the camera, looking into a big lens and that’s why I prefer a relaxed, ‘no-pressure’ approach to photography. I believe people look their best when they’re letting their hair down and enjoying themselves.
A Few FACTS......
………about yours truly:
I’ve been shooting weddings since 2014.
I love photography and I find people are the most interesting things to shoot. I love wedding photography, but I also study photojournalism so that I can more effectively capture humanity and all its beautiful quirks.
I have a lovely wife called Eleanor and a beautiful baby son called Owen. They rock my world on a daily basis.
I love music and musical instruments. I can even (sort of) play a few.
I grew up on heavy metal and grunge and now listen to everything from movie soundtracks to drum and bass. We took Owen to his first festival this year….Festwich, just down the road from where we live.
I love film and film making and have had a go at it myself.
My Aunty (through marriage) is actress Ruth Jones of Gavin & Stacey / Stella / East-is-East fame. Her husband, my uncle, runs Peet’s Restaurant in Lochinver, Scotland (shameless plug).
I used to live in Japan and can….or should I say ‘could’….speak Japanese. It was here that I met my wife and developed a passion for photography. It was early days but you can see a few photos from this time here.
I live in Prestwich, North Manchester (“Didsbury of the North”, or so they say….).
I also enjoy reading, exercise, Guinness, Chinese Takeaway and, very rarely these days, the odd computer game.
