It’s awesome being a Waterton Park Hotel wedding photographer because I got to to shoot Mark and Kate’s super fun and relaxed wedding!
It wasn’t long after I arrived at the bridal suite that corks were being popped and chapagne being poured! Our bride was in such hgh spirits and laughing so much that she almost took her bridesmaid’s eye out with the cork!
This very same bridesmaid not long after used an app on her phone to add berds to peoples faces. Most of us have had a go at this kind of thing…..excep for Kate’s mum who seemingly had never seen anything like this before and found it hilarious! Kate had a funny chat with a relation on the phone and then readied herself for makeup!
Mark didn’t request groom preparation so I met him as guests arrived for the ceremony. Que lots of hugging and Mark spending a little time with his best men, getting their flowers and ties straight before taking a little walk for a photo op!
Mark showed little signs of nerves as he waited for Kate to come down the aisle. The precession began and Kate’s paige boy – and only a little boy at that – needed to be shown where to walk by a hotel member of staff. The ceremony was lovely , although Kate struggled to put the ring on Mark’s finger. A funny moment for the bride and groom and guests too.
The ceremony over, everyone congragated outside for hugs, some photos and a good old natter and catchup. The wedding guests gave a grand performance in showering Kate and Mark with confetti. Kate and Makr really enjoyed having a few natural couple photographs and afterwards I chased round an energetic little girl and boy with my camera.
The speeches were full of joy and laughter and Mark’s two best men had plenty of funny stories about Mark. The evening reception started in style, and even before the first dance some of Mark’s friends had bought in a healthy supply of Jager Bombs! These were promptly downed by a large crew near the dance floor.
The cutting of the cake was one of the most fun that I have ever photographed. Kate wielded the knife like a crazy lady and stuffed Mrk’s face full of cake. The first dance came shortly afterwards, and Kate gave Mark the best of smiley kisses, one of my all time favourite natural first dance photographs, which looks great in black and white.
Much dancing action came later, with the dance flood packed with guests. Kate enjoyed an energetic and emotional dance with her dad. As I said my goodbyes the party continued, I should imagine, late into the night.
Massive congratulations to Kate and Mark!
